First of all, here’s a shout out to all those morning people out there! Oh how I applaud you, and envy you all at the same time 😏

It’s not that I’m not a morning person, I love the feeling on those occasions where I get up early, have time to do a few chores and make myself a coffee, but its so hard getting out of bed of late, especially when it’s pitch black and rainy outside. So if you’re like me and you need something pretty quick to grab and go in the morning a breakfast shake is the way forward. Nutribuddy sent me a 2 week trial of their Vanilla Breakfast shake, which first off comes in a lovely glass kilner jar (winner winner, I love a good kitchen utensil!) I have to admit I was a little skeptical as Nutribuddy do market themselves as a weight loss product, and I am definitely not one for fad diets and short terms goals, but I am one for balance and the breakfast shake seemed like the perfect addition to my meal plan. Something satisfying and fulfilling in the AM, that fits into my lifestyle…ie quick and easy to make (especially if gyming or what not in the morning). And of course I checked the ingredients before agreeing to trial and its vegan, made from all organic Gluten-Free Oats, Flaxseeds, Chia Seeds, Desiccated Coconut, Stevia, Vanilla.

3 scoops and a choice of your own milk or water and you’re good to go! So, how did I get on?

The first initial taste, I was a little unsure on the flavour, I think the stevia gives it a slight artificial taste, but the more I drank the less I noticed this and now 2 weeks in it doesn’t bother me at all and I’ve also worked out a better balance so its not too sweet. I really like the shake, but I found that the shake as it’s recommended  wasn’t enough to keep me going for the full morning so I decided to experiment with the powder, adding some extras and bulking it out. As well as making some absolutely DIVINE cookies today, which you just have have haveee to try here!! So here’s a few recipes I recommend to mix up the breakfast shake, I also think this is important to spice it up a bit so you don’t get bored of having the same thing every day! The Nana Nutri:

Whizz all the ingredients in a smoothie make.  Serves 1

  • 1 x banana
  • 200ml almond milk
  • 3 scoops Nutribuddy Vanilla
  • Dash of water

The Sweet Avo-Nutri:

Whizz all the ingredients in a smoothie make. Serves 1

  • 1/2 large avocado
  • 3 scoops Nutribuddy vanilla
  • Handful spinach
  • 200ml Almond or coconut milk
  • Dash of water

The Nutri-berry: 

  • Handful frozen berries
  • 1/2 banana
  • 200ml almond milk / nut milk
  • 3 scoops Nutribuddy vanilla
  • dash of water
