People of England! What a summer we’ve had over here and its only mid July. If you’ve ever lived in the UK and experienced the UK summer, you’ll know what I mean when I say most of summer comprises of us asking that same question.. “when’s summer going to show its face?!” Noooo no, not this year….we’ve mostly been complaining about the heatΒ πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚

So one fine summer day, I looked in the freezer, found a bag of frozen berries and whipped up this delightful, dairy free, sugar free smoothie bowl. Great as a desert, breakfast smoothie bowl or a snack. I think kids would LOVE this. It could even be prepared the same way and poured into ice lolly holders and frozen for them to enjoy.

Recipe makes 2 x small bowls

Ingredients:


  • 200g frozen berries / summer fruits
  • 1 x medium banana
  • 2 x dates or tablespoon of honey / maple syrup to sweeten
  • 1 heaped tablespoon almond or cashew butter
  • splash of water (add more if its too thick for you)

Method:


  • Add all the ingredients to a smoothie maker / juicer and whizz until smooth
  • Pour into small bowls/ramekins or a glass
  • top with blueberries & sprinkle of chia seeds / linseed mix (optional)
