Raw Cacao Fig and Raspberry Truffles

If you are like me and the thought of getting through a healthy week without a single sweet treat is undefeatable, then medjool dates are usually the answer, however, with a week of lots of cycling (tube strikes in London mean cycling to work everyday!) I predicted I’d need a little more energy boosting, so these energy balls were the result. I’ve called them truffles as the Raw Cacao dusting powder and the smoothness created when the figs are processed makes them just melt in the mouth. The raspberry add a lovely tangy flavour to contrast against the cacao.

Energy balls are so easy to make and also great to make in bulk as they usually last a good few weeks in the fridge.


  • 300g dried but soft figs
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil (I love Sister and Co)
  • 3 tbsp almond flour
  • 3 heaped tbsp Cacao
  • 2 tbsp dried raspberries


  • Place all the ingredients except the dried raspberries in a food processor and whizz until smooth. Sprinkle the dried raspberries over the mixture and whizz again until combined.
  • Form until small balls, this mixture should make around 8, place in the fridge and let them harden for around 30 minutes. Remove the balls from the fridge and then sprinkle some more Cacao powder over and roll them evenly in the cacao to cover.
  • Store in the fridge in an airtight container. They should last a few weeks.
